Waves for Change invites purpose-driven corporate partnerships. Invest your impact and B-BBEE funds into long-term mental health outcomes for South Africa’s youth through Surf Therapy.
Skills Development
Waves for Change trains and employs youth from the same communities as its participants to become Surf Therapy coaches, equipping them with mental health, first aid, safeguarding, and employability skills through diverse training efforts.
This type of investment falls within Category F on the BBBEE Skills Development Scorecard, as “Informal Training” and can be allocated up to 25% of your Skills Development spend, and earn 6 points.
CSI / SED donations
Businesses have an important role to play in community wellness. By partnering with Waves for Change, you will have a positive impact on children’s mental health and a chance to express the values of your business, customers, staff, and stakeholders.
Waves for Change is a registered nonprofit company (NPC) and a public benefit organisation. The organisation is a level 1 BBBEE contributor with far over 75% black beneficiaries.
Sponsorships, Gifts in Kind, & Employee Engagement
Waves for Change partners with businesses that share core values and want to participate in meaningful ways that supports the delivery of quality mental wellness services through surf therapy. There is no one size fits all for partnerships, but here are some broad categories of partnership that you can select from for inspiration:
- Sponsorships: A monetary contribution to an existing expense item that supports the Surf Therapy programme, usually with public visibility that recognises the sponsor and partnership.
- Gifts in Kind: Your company might sell towels, sunhats, or office supplies that we can use in the organisation or toward our programme needs. These donations can qualify for tax deductibility.
- Employee engagement: For existing partners, Waves for Change can create an employee experience where your team can experience Surf Therapy as led by our trained coaches.
